We are seeking an HVAC Technician for a maintenance position in Pass Christian, MS. The HVAC Mechanic position assembles, installs, services, and repairs air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating units used in homes, schools, commercial, and industrial buildings. Non-exempt role; Reports to the Foreman; Assigned duties according to specific procedures / work is checked frequently.

Essential Qualifications:

• High school or equivalent
• One (1) to four (4) years of experience in specified skill (depending on mechanic level)
• Advanced knowledge of industrial/commercial HVAC systems
• Advanced skill with HVAC diagnostic tools
• Most sites will require HVAC certification
• Post offer drug / alcohol screen, physical evaluation, and signed acceptance of the company Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy
• Comply with company and client job site safety requirements
• Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace

Functional Requirements:

Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy; look at flat drawings or pictures and visualize how they would look as solid objects with height, width, and depth; perform a variety of duties which may change often; rate information using measurable standards; studies building plans and working drawing to determine work aids required and sequence of installations; may measure windows or other existing openings, or cutting through walls, using a mallet, cold chisel, or other tools to install new units; diagnose causes of equipment breakdowns; test parts with appropriate instruments, disassemble and assemble parts, and make necessary repairs; may drill holes to mount units and lift parts into position; locates and marks position of pipe and/or duct connections and passage holes for same in walls and floors, using ruler, spirit level, and plumb bob; cuts openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and/or duct fittings, using hand tools and power tools; cuts and threads pipe, using pipe cutters, cutting torch, and pipe-threading machine; connects motors to control panels and balances motors to insure efficient operation; connects control panels to power source; may weld holding fixtures to steel structural members; may install and maintain solar heating and cooling units; perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction

Compensation

Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.

Physical Involvement:

May be required to do the following: climbing ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc. above and below ground level; maintaining balance on ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc.; reaching in all directions; handling and manipulating objects and materials; coordinating the movements of eyes, hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment; lifting 30 to 50 pounds from ground level, waist level, and/or overhead; carrying objects, tools, equipment, etc.; standing / sitting; walking; pushing; pulling; bending; kneeling; crouching/squatting ; seeing with or without correction; hearing with or without correction; wearing respirator and other PPE; typing / data entry; stepstool use; work in excessive heat; work in excessive cold; work in loud environment
