Job Title: Machine Builder

1st shift - $25-$30/HR

Job Description

The Machine Builder assembles, installs, and maintains machinery and mechanical systems in a clean, controlled environment. This role involves reading and interpreting blueprints, using a variety of hand tools, and troubleshooting mechanical issues, with opportunities to travel to customer sites to support equipment installations.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble machinery and mechanical systems according to blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.

  • Install equipment and systems, ensuring proper alignment, fit, and functionality.

  • Use a variety of hand tools and mechanical assembly tools to build and adjust components.

  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform corrective actions to restore equipment performance.

  • Assist with field installations at customer sites as needed, ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently.

  • Perform routine equipment maintenance to support reliable and continuous operation.

  • Conduct mechanical inspections using appropriate tools to verify quality and adherence to specifications.

  • Follow safety procedures and best practices at all times while maintaining a strong focus on quality and efficiency.

  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to complete projects on schedule.

  • Document work performed and communicate any issues or improvement opportunities to the appropriate stakeholders.

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience in mechanical assembly and machine building.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

  • Proficiency with hand tools and mechanical assembly tools.

  • Experience with equipment maintenance and basic mechanical repairs.

  • Knowledge of controls and instrumentation at a practical working level.

  • Familiarity with mechanical inspection tools and techniques.

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment with a focus on quality and efficiency.

  • Strong understanding of safety practices related to mechanical and manufacturing work.

  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues methodically and effectively.

Work Environment

The role is based in a clean, temperature-controlled facility that supports precision mechanical work and consistent comfort throughout the year. Standard hours are 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, providing a predictable daytime schedule. You will work with a variety of hand tools, mechanical assembly equipment, and inspection instruments in a well-maintained manufacturing setting that emphasizes safety, quality, and efficiency.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Princeton, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $28.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
