ELL Instructional Paraprofessional Home School

ELL Instructional Paraprofessional Home School: Parkview with a possibility to service children at other VCS schools. Qualifications: Knowledge of another language is helpful, but not required. 1. 2 years of college experience; or 2. A 2 year college degree; or 3. Passed the ParaPro Assessment within 1 year of employment; or 4. One year or 1,000 hours of previous employment experience in a school or working with children; or 5. Completed 48 credit hours of college level classes 6. Experience in ELL instruction preferred 7. Experience with Special Education Instruction preferred Reports to: Building Level Administrators/ELL District Coordinator Performance Responsibilities: Works with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce English language learning of material or skills under the direct supervision of the teacher Assignments may vary from day to day depending on student needs Reinforcing material or skills based on a sympathetic understanding of individual students, their needs, interests, and abilities Alerts the regular teacher to any problem or special information about an individual student Maintains the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of fully licensed teachers Monitors student progress Attends conferences / workshops for ELL Professional development Attends district staff meetings with ELL District Coordinator Participates in training programs, as assigned Perform other duties as requested by the ELL District Coordinator Coordinates and/or administers the WIDA assessment for ELL students Facilitates the completion of ELL documents Prepares letters for parent communication Facilitate and or translate documents Benefits: Salary Range: $14.05 -$17.00 per hour, 180 days per year, non-PERF paying position, Paid time off Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Support Services Personnel.
