Associate Attorney

Location: Cary, North Carolina (In-Office Only) Employment Type: Full-Time Salary: $60,000.00 - $67,000.00annually, commensurate with experience About the Firm The Law Offices of Benjamin T. McLawhorn is a small, but fast-paced law firm located in Raleigh, North Carolina. We are dedicated to serving individuals and families across the state in the areas of family law, civil litigation, and employment law. Our firm is built on a client-first philosophy and a commitment to delivering honest, strategic, and empathetic legal representation. We are currently seeking a full-time Associate Attorney who is motivated, team-oriented, and ready to take on substantive work from the beginning. This is an in-office position, ideal for someone who is looking to grow quickly in their legal career and gain valuable hands-on litigation and client experience. Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. Licensed to practice law in the state of North Carolina. Prior legal experience is preferred but not required. Newly licensed attorneys with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply. Confidence with basic legal tasks including drafting pleadings and motions, conducting discovery, e-filing, and professional client communication. A team player who thrives in a collaborative environment and is capable of managing a fast-moving caseload. Key Responsibilities Draft, file, and argue legal pleadings. Attend hearings, mediations, and other legal proceedings as necessary. Manage assigned case files and maintain consistent communication with clients. Conduct legal research, prepare discovery requests, and delegate tasks to support staff. Collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategy and trial preparation. Track time accurately and communicate regularly with supervising attorneys. What We Offer Competitive salary ($60,000.00 - $65,000.00) thousand dollars annually, depending on experience. Health insurance (individual coverage), after 90 day initial employment period. Malpractice insurance provided. Minimum 40 hrs. per week in-office.
