HVAC Mechanical Engineer

Licensed Mechanical Engineer (PE)We are seeking a Licensed Mechanical Engineer (PE) with strong HVAC and MEP design experience to lead the mechanical engineering and design of commercial building projects. This is a hands-on technical engineering role, not a project management position. The successful candidate will take ownership of mechanical systems from initial design and calculations through construction documentation and construction administration.Projects may include healthcare, veterinary, commercial, municipal, institutional, and other specialized facilities. The ideal candidate is a technically strong Professional Engineer who can work independently while collaborating with architects, engineers, contractors, and multidisciplinary design teams.ResponsibilitiesDevelop mechanical engineering designs for commercial, healthcare, veterinary, municipal, and institutional facilitiesDesign HVAC and other mechanical building systems in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and project requirementsPrepare and review engineering calculations, equipment selections, specifications, and construction documentsServe as the Engineer of Record and provide technical oversight and engineering judgment throughout the design processCoordinate mechanical systems with architectural, electrical, structural, plumbing, and other disciplinesReview RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and other technical documentation during constructionConduct site visits to verify existing conditions, monitor construction progress, and address field issuesIdentify constructability concerns and develop practical engineering solutionsSupport inspections, punch-list activities, owner training, commissioning, and project closeoutMaintain technical quality and ensure designs meet applicable codes, standards, and client requirements
