Store/Tienda #14 – 1263 West Flagler Street, Miami, 33135 – Shift/Turno Part-Time/Medio Tiempo – (Afternoon/Por la tarde) Cashier Responsible for providing excellent customer service and accurately processing customer purchases. Works in compliance with Sedano’s Supermarkets policies and procedures to ensure safe, organized, and efficient store operations. Essential Duties And Responsibilities (Deberes Esenciales y Responsabilidades) Politely greet customers and provide outstanding service. Scan products or weigh produce; operate the cash register accurately and efficiently, accepting all payment forms and giving correct change. Maintain the cash drawer with sufficient currency and coins. Count the cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift. Conduct price checks when necessary. Bag items, assist customers in loading shopping carts, and return discarded items to shelves. Keep scanner, scale, conveyor belt, and counter clean. Assist in maintaining front‑store cleanliness and safety. When requested or scheduled, straighten displays and shelves (facing). Attend and/or participate in store or department meetings. Demonstrate punctuality and good attendance; ensure coverage during absences. Perform other work‑related duties as required. Secondary Duties And Responsibilities (Deberes Secundarios y Responsabilidades) Serve as bagger or facing clerk when necessary. Add or change paper in registers, printers, adding machines, or other office equipment. Report any equipment malfunctions to the on‑duty manager. Collect shopping carts from the front of the store or parking lot when needed. Assist the on‑duty manager in other departments when required. Competencies, Skills And/Or Qualifications (Competencias, Habilidades Y/O Calificaciones) Proficient in English; Spanish preferred. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong mathematical skills and accurate cash handling. Ability to use computer, cash register, lottery, money order machines, and 10‑key adding machine. Organized, detail‑oriented, and accurate. Responsible and reliable. Flexible to work scheduled hours, including holidays and weekends. Physical Demands (Demandas Físicas) Stand for extended periods, walk, and use hands for typing and handling. Reach, repetitive arm and hand motions, talk, listen, and use sense of smell. Carry, lift, or move up to 20 pounds; push/pull carts; stoop or bend at the waist; twist back and neck; sit; climb a step stool; balance; crouch or bend at the knees. The individual performs duties in a grocery store environment, maintaining frequent contact with supervisors, employees, and customers. The noise level is low to moderate.
