Job Description

Role Summary The Technical Writer turns the pilot into a repeatable program. By working alongside the collection team — and collecting data part of the time — this role documents the process as it is actually performed, producing the playbook every subsequent terminal will follow.

Collect field data for approximately a third of the working time, to document the process firsthand

Author the standard operating procedure for BOM data collection

Document the data capture standard, mandatory fields, and SAP-ready output format

Build field aids: asset-type checklists, in-scope versus out-of-scope decision guides, and QA steps

Document terminal mobilization: site onboarding, TWIC and escort requirements, access constraints

Capture lessons learned from the pilot and revise the process before Phase 2

Maintain version control and deliver client-ready documentation CF can use independently

Skills and Requirements

4+ years authoring SOPs or work instructions for technical or industrial processes Able to observe an unfamiliar technical process and translate it into clear written procedure Able to work onsite at an industrial facility and complete site safety onboarding TWIC Card Working Knowledge of SAP Bulk terminal, fertilizer, or chemical facility experience Maintenance, reliability, or asset management documentation experience Familiarity with SAP PM or other CMMS platforms Field data collection experience
