Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Step-Down Unit – Georgia

Start Date: November 2, 2026

Location: Atlanta, Georgia

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Medical Step-Down Unit, 6-20 bed unit with 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio. Float assignments to other Intermediate Care Units (IMCU) as needed. Mandatory holiday coverage required (Thanksgiving or day after Thanksgiving, plus either Christmas Eve/Christmas Day or New Year's Eve/New Year's Day).

Highlights:

• Provide care for patients with diverse case mix including Sepsis, Heart Failure, Hypertensive Emergency, Respiratory Failure, COPD, Chronic Kidney Disease, Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, Substance Abuse, Status Epilepticus, and Encephalopathy
• 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio in a 6-20 bed Medical Step-Down Unit
• Opportunity to gain experience across multiple Intermediate Care Units through floating assignments
• Dynamic acute care environment requiring strong critical thinking and assessment skills

Requirements:

• Active RN license in Georgia or compact state eligibility
• Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience required
• Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Medical Step-Down or Intermediate Care Unit experience strongly preferred
• Ability to work required holiday shifts as scheduled
