Target Security Specialist

Job Overview Starting Hourly Rate: $17.25 USD per hour. All About Target: Working at Target means helping all families discover the joy of everyday life. Responsibilities Promote a safe and secure environment for guests and team members. Provide crisis response, safety, and crowd management using de‑escalation tactics. Use intelligence‑led tactics and Target's video surveillance system to monitor store activities. Document security incidents promptly in the case management system. Conduct merchandise theft recoveries and provide theft apprehension support. Perform merchandise receipt checks to prevent theft and shortage. Support team efforts and assist peers in other areas while maintaining a positive attitude. Maintain a physical security culture, assessing and maintaining safe and secure standards throughout the store, including exterior property. All other duties as required by business needs. Qualifications Minimum age of 18 years. High school diploma or equivalent. Complies with state and local licensure or legal requirements. Ability to communicate effectively on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and customer‑service attitude. Capacity to work independently and in a team, manage workload, and prioritize tasks. Can remain focused in a fast‑paced environment and handle multiple tasks within established timeframes. Physical ability to climb ladders, lift and move merchandise up to 40 pounds, and remain mobile throughout the shift. Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and peak shopping times. Knowledge of Target's policies and procedures related to security and loss prevention.
