Material Handler - Packer/Blender Technician

Location: Pass Christian, Nearest Major Market: Biloxi, Nearest Secondary Market: Gulfport

The SBC Packing-Blending Technician is responsible for SBC Packing and Blending, operating process equipment, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of machinery & equipment. The candidate must have knowledge of general safety procedures and be able to communicate effectively with team members. This position is expected to uphold and comply with all Standard Operating Procedures, corporate and site-specific policies, safety and work rules, and OSHA/MSDS Standards. This individual is also responsible for counting and inspecting products and notifying leadership when there are damages or discrepancies. These associates are accountable for the safe and efficient operation of all equipment and will be expected to perform all duties as assigned. As part of the DSV team, Associates are expected to meet company objectives in the areas of performance, safety, and quality. Associates are expected to comply with all corporate and site-specific policies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• SBC Packing Operations: Perform SBC packing operations in accordance with established procedures and production requirements.
• Reblend Operations: Perform blending duties for Dry Blend and Wet Blend operations following all area SJP.
• Bulk Operations: Perform support duties and tasks for Chemours Bulk Operations.
• Quality & Compliance: Inspect all SBC bags prior to hanging for defects and contamination.
• Equipment Inspections: Inspect all process equipment prior to operation.
• Inventory & Sampling: Complete SBC sampling to ensure product quality following sample schedule recipe.
• Safety, Housekeeping, and Compliance: Maintain a clean, neat, orderly work area, and assist in security of the warehouse/production area.
• Equipment Operation: Load, unload, move, stack, and stage product and materials using a forklift, clamp truck, drum attachment, or other power equipment.
• Maintenance: Perform or assist in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as assigned.

Other Duties (Site Specific): Change fuel tanks on forklifts as needed: participate in physical inventories; perform labeling, sorting, wrapping, packing, and repacking as needed. Repair pallets, when necessary, trailers, and truck bays as requested. Help maintain the facility to provide a clean, safe work environment. Performs other duties as required.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

• Education and/or Experience: Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED). 6 months experience working in a logistics/distribution/manufacturing/relevant environment.
• Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Professional Designations: Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program (where applicable).

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

• Computer Skills: Basic computer skills
• RF Scanners: WMS functions
• Language Skills: English (reading, writing, verbal)
• Mathematical Skills: Basic to intermediate level to verify quantities of product, count inventory, or perform other duties associated with handling, storing, packaging, and distributing client products.
• Other: Strong attention to detail accuracy and accomplish job tasks in a timely manner. Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision or guidance. Flexibility to work various shifts as needed. Must be able to effectively adapt to change and thrive in a stimulating, fast-paced work environment. Perform all relevant duties and responsibilities with accuracy and integrity.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1-2 years' experience working in a warehouse/logistics/distribution environment.
• 1-2 years forklift experience (where applicable)
• Minimum 1-year experience in SBC Packing & Reblend Operations
• Current or prior MHE certification (where applicable)
