Job Title: Oncology Infusion Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Infusion RN, Hematology Oncology Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Shift, Monday to Friday Hours per Shift: 32 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Current RN license required Certifications: ONS Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration Certification Required Must-Have: 2 years of chemotherapy administration experience and EPIC experience Description: The oncology infusion registered nurse is a member of the cancer care team who will work in the infusion area. This position provides the delivery of professional oncology nursing care. The nurse ensures adherence to cancer care policies and nursing procedures, standards, and practices. Continued quality improvement objectives and safety, environmental, and infection control standards are also part of this role. Duties include assessment of health history and addressing physician orders. The nurse will perform in-office procedures and provide patient and family education. Chemotherapy administration and cancer symptom management are essential responsibilities. Patient monitoring through frequent visits will assess both physical state and emotional well-being. The nurse acts as the primary conduit of communication with patients. They will relay patient information and feedback to physicians. Direct nursing care, including triage of patient care needs, is a key aspect of the role. The oncology registered nurse applies clinical knowledge, judgment, and decision-making skills. They will analyze and act on patient care issues as needed. Additional duties may be assigned by the Cancer Care Director or Physician Services Senior Leader.
