SUMMARY The Guest Service Associate is responsible for providing exceptional hospitality services to guests in an attentive, friendly and efficient manner. Duties include greeting guests, parking and retrieving vehicles, assisting with luggage, providing directions and other guest inquiries, and ensuring a safe and pleasant experience. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Maintains a pleasant, friendly, and professional demeanor with all guests, co‑workers, and clients (25%). Uses salutations of the day, welcomes guests, practices proper phone etiquette, and remains mindful of posting in designated areas when not completing tasks (10%). Parks and retrieves vehicles while driving slowly and cautiously, assists with bell services and luggage storage, and opens vehicle and hotel doors for guests (20%). Assists guests with directions, taxis, reservations, and other inquiries, provides information about outlet, meeting rooms, amenities and local attractions, delivers messages or items, and shuttles guests to approved locations (10%). Explains parking rates and retrieval procedures, issues claim checks, and maintains accurate ticket information and revenue calculations (35%). QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or GED. Valid driver’s license for the state of employment. One month related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. Strong reading and writing in standard English; ability to comprehend simple instructions and write simple correspondence. Ability to present information in one‑on‑one and small group settings to guests, clients, and employees. Basic math skills with three‑digit addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with units of American money. Understanding of 24‑hour and military time systems and applicable rates. Desire to operate a manual transmission (highly desirable) and proficiency with parallel parking. SCOPE Job is fairly routine. Incumbent follows established practices and procedures, performs duties with specific directions, and receives frequent checks or verification. Decisions are made within operational instructions and departmental guidelines, with errors potentially impacting departmental efficiency. WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS Regularly required to talk or hear; frequently sit or stand for extended periods and may run, walk, handle objects, reach, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Requires close, distance, color, peripheral, depth vision and ability to adjust focus. Lifting up to 100lb occasionally, 50lb frequently, or 20lb constantly. Majority of work performed outdoors, exposure to extreme heat and cold, and possible travel up to 5%.
