Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with pediatric critical care experience for a night shift position at a children's hospital in Oklahoma City, OK.

Details

• Inpatient respiratory care department at a children's hospital
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
• Pediatric patient population across all age-appropriate care areas
• Performs invasive and noninvasive diagnostic testing and monitoring
• Administers therapeutic treatments as prescribed by attending medical staff
• Participates in quick response team for cardiac and respiratory arrests
• Maintains and ensures proper cleaning of respiratory equipment

Requirements

• Graduation from an approved Respiratory Care Program
• Minimum 1 year of respiratory care experience
• Two or more years of experience in a critical care setting preferred
• Previous experience at a children's-only hospital preferred
• RRT credential required (must be received within 12 months of hire if not already obtained)
• Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision
• BLS certification (AHA) required
• ACLS certification (AHA) required within 3 months of hire
• All certifications must be issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
• License required if applicable
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Provides respiratory therapy services across all appropriate age levels in all areas served by the department
• Acts as a resource to medical staff and participates in clinical decision-making related to pulmonary and cardiac care
• Documents treatment information and patient responses in the computerized medical record
• Travelers who have previously worked at this facility may extend one time for a total of 26 weeks; a 6-month separation period is required before beginning another contract
• This facility enforces strict compliance deadlines and will not accommodate delayed start dates for non-compliant travelers
