Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for a 13-week evening-shift assignment at a Level 1 trauma hospital, requiring 2+ years of recent OR experience and strong neuro/ortho skills.

Details

• Acute care Level 1 trauma hospital with 25 OR suites and 75-100 cases per day
• OR - RN Specialty unit functioning as a circulating nurse role
• 1:1 nurse to patient ratio
• Uses EPIC EMR for computerized charting
• Equipment includes Accudose, cautery, lasers, laparoscopic and arthroscopy equipment, and Stealth navigation for Neuro cases
• Straight evening shift, 1pm-9pm, Monday-Friday
• Shifts may extend to 8 or 10 hours as needed, which is considered part of the regular shift rather than call back
• Rotates to day shift along with all staff
• Call requirements of 1-2 days per week and every 3-4 weekends
• Rare floating to Broadway or South University campus locations
• 40 guaranteed hours per week

Requirements

• Active RN license (ND or Compact) required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent OR RN experience required
• Experience in a large hospital (250+ beds) with Level 1 trauma status required
• Experience in an acute facility with 15 or more OR suites required; outpatient center experience will not be considered a match
• Experience with robotics required, DaVinci experience preferred
• Strong experience in Neuro procedures (craniotomies, spine) required
• Strong Ortho experience required for case versatility
• Experience with General, GYN, Urology, and laparoscopic surgical cases required
• Experience with surgical navigation required
• BSN not required for this position

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include sterile prepping of surgical sites, catheter insertion, opening sterile supplies, positioning patients for procedures, documenting in the electronic record, and setting up/utilizing OR equipment as directed
• 8 hours of orientation provided
• Ceil Blue scrubs provided
• All clinicians must badge in and out at the facility
• Cannot accept candidates living within 60 miles of the facility
• Local travel rate applies to candidates living 60-80 miles from the facility
• Candidates with prior employment at this health system must have an end date at least 6 months prior to submission
