Job Description

Welding Supervisor Position Summary: We are seeking a hands-on Welding Supervisor to provide strong leadership, guidance, and direction to our welding team. This role requires both technical expertise and interpersonal skills to supervise, train, and coach production leads and employees. The Welding Supervisor will work closely with the Operations Manager to implement policies, improve efficiencies, and uphold standard work procedures.

Welding Supervisor Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety & Compliance: Maintain a safe and clean work environment by ensuring employees follow all safety protocols, control points, and compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all products meet engineering print specifications and customer standards in coordination with the Plant Manager.
  • Production Management: Develop and oversee production plans, including scheduling, assigning personnel, setting priorities, and resolving issues to ensure efficiency and on-time completion.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and support a team of 20+ production staff, fostering a high-performance culture, reducing turnover, and optimizing labor efficiencies.
  • Performance Monitoring: Communicate job expectations, monitor daily performance, and provide regular feedback through performance appraisals.
  • Employee Development: Coach, counsel, and, when necessary, implement disciplinary actions to maintain workforce standards and morale.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the VP of Operations, Operations Manager, and HR Manager to recruit, hire, onboard, and train employees.

Welding Supervisor Qualifications & Experience: Experience in Production or Operations Management in a similar manufacturing environment. 2–5+ years of MIG welding experience in an industrial setting. 2–5+ years of supervisory or management experience within a welding or manufacturing environment. Proven experience in team leadership, employee coaching, process improvement, and production planning. Strong ability to read and interpret product blueprints and engineering specifications.
