The Patient Financial Services SBO Manager plays a critical leadership role overseeing key financial operations within the healthcare revenue cycle. This position requires extensive experience managing patient financial services, billing, collections, and cash operations to ensure accurate and timely revenue flow. The manager will lead teams in multiple functions, including cash application and customer service, fostering operational efficiency and compliance in a dynamic hospital business office environment.

 

Responsibilities

• Oversee patient financial services, billing, and collections teams to ensure effective revenue cycle management
• Manage healthcare cash application, treasury functions, and payment reconciliation processes
• Supervise day-to-day customer service operations within the business office
• Implement revenue cycle strategies to improve cash flow and reduce denials
• Ensure compliance with healthcare billing regulations and third-party reimbursement policies
• Lead, mentor, and develop staff to achieve performance objectives and drive continuous improvement
• Coordinate with cross-functional departments to optimize financial workflows and reporting

 

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field OR
• High School Diploma or GED with 8 years of progressive Revenue Cycle leadership experience OR
• Associate Degree with 4 additional years of qualifying Revenue Cycle leadership experience
• 7+ years of Revenue Cycle or Patient Financial Services experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Patient Financial Services, Patient Accounting, Revenue Cycle, Third-Party Reimbursement, Healthcare Billing, Medical Collections, and Hospital Business Office.
• 5+ years in healthcare leadership or management.
• Minimum 3 years of supervisory or leadership experience
• Experience managing healthcare cash application, treasury functions, payment reconciliation, and customer service operations
