Salary Range: $65,000 - $98,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are partnering with organizations in Mattawan that are seeking Environmental Health & Safety Specialists. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement EHS policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
• Conduct regular safety audits and inspections, identifying potential hazards and recommending corrective actions.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, determining root causes and implementing preventive measures.
• Provide EHS training to employees on various topics, including hazard communication, lockout/tagout, and confined space entry.
• Manage hazardous waste disposal programs, ensuring proper handling, storage, and documentation.
• Maintain and update EHS recordkeeping systems, including permits, licenses, and training records.
• Participate in the emergency response team, assisting with incident management and recovery efforts.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related science/engineering field.
• 3-5 years of EHS experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct EHS training, incident investigations, and risk assessments.
• Experience developing and implementing EHS programs and management systems (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001).

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001 management systems
• HAZWOPER certification
• Proficient in data analysis and EHS software platforms
• Demonstrated ability to lead and deliver EHS training programs
• Bilingual (English/Spanish)
