Senior Systems Engineer (Cloud Engineer)

Job Summary The Senior Systems Engineer (Cloud Engineer) facilitates and is responsible for the implementation and administration of server hardware, operating systems and core infrastructure components for both on-premise and public cloud environments. This position plays a key role in the Credit Union’s service and support organization and enables business units to reach their goals by supporting various projects and by maintaining the confidentiality, integrity and availability of IT services. This role helps to define technology standards including policies and procedures. The Senior Systems Engineer is an exempt position and reports to the Director of Technical Operations. Essential Functions Infrastructure Management Responsible for implementation and administration of on-premise computeand storage infrastructure environments including; Cisco UCS, VMware, Pure Storage, Cohesity Implementation, maintenance and support of public cloud services and resources Deep understanding of Active Directory, Microsoft Entra, M365 configuration and management. Strong drive to develop and transform current on-premise and cloud infrastructure services and processes with a continued focus on security Proactive ownership of physical environments to include system updates and upgrades, expansions, system migrations and data replication. Improve efficiency and quality in service and system build and delivery, monitoring, standard operations and validation through the use automation Troubleshoot and solve issues and incidents related to critical services and proactively detect and prevent their re-occurrences Leverage third-party support and resources in support of administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting complex technical issues. Infrastructure Cloud Services Support a cloud first strategy including application cloud readiness assessments, on-premises to cloud migrations and cloud proof-of-concepts. Maintain and deploy cloud services including SaaS, PaaS and IaaS solutions. Maintain strict adherence and compliance to all laws, rules, regulations and internal controls specific to your role, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering, USA Patriot Act, OFAC and Fair Lending regulations. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Critical thinker open to and able to provide creative solutions to complex problems Proven history of building relationships with both technical and non-technical teams quickly and effectively. Demonstrated knowledge of data standards (both data exchange and storage) highly preferred. Demonstrated excellence in providing superb customer service as well as strong communication skills (written, verbal, and listening) required Must be able to provide presentations in group settings in a professional and courteous manner. Effective communication skills. Proficiency with creating and updating technical process and design documentation. Must be bondable Preferred Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field 2+ years of demonstrated experience managing Azure cloud environments Experience in cloud infrastructure projects with hands on migration expertise to public clouds such as Azure Experience working in a Credit Union or financial services industry Current Technical Certifications such as; VMware, Microsoft Windows Server, Azure or AWS Physical Demands The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee, with or without accommodation, in order to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
