Expanded Function Dental Assistant

As an Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA), you will play a key role in enhancing the efficiency and quality of care by performing advanced clinical duties under the supervision of dentists. You will contribute directly to the patient experience through technical skills and compassionate care. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a hands-on, surgical setting and is passionate about patient safety, comfort, and high-quality care.

Responsibilities include placing and finishing dental restorations after the dentist prepares the tooth. You will take accurate impressions for temporary crowns, bridges, and diagnostic models. Fabrication and placement of temporary crowns and bridges will also be part of your duties. You will perform coronal polishing and fluoride treatments. Additionally, you will apply sealants and desensitizing agents as directed. You will assist the dentist during procedures, including restorative, prosthodontic, and endodontic treatments. Taking and processing radiographs is required. Maintaining proper infection control and sterilization standards is essential. You will provide clear post-treatment instructions to patients. Accurate charting of treatment notes and assisting with updating patient records will be expected. Inventory monitoring and tray preparation for procedures are part of the role. Support for front office team with patient flow and case coordination may be needed.
