Engineering Director, Workflow Management Solutions, Digital Health

Abbott seeks an Engineering Director to lead global software engineering, architecture, cybersecurity, and platform teams for the AlinIQ Workflow Management portfolio. The role involves defining technology strategy across legacy and cloud-native solutions while ensuring regulatory compliance in healthcare.

Responsibilities

Define and execute technology strategy for connected laboratory informatics ecosystem
Lead global software engineering, architecture, cybersecurity, and platform engineering organizations
Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and cybersecurity requirements across portfolio
Guide application modernization initiatives and technical debt reduction
Establish engineering governance, development standards, and operational metrics

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical discipline
15+ years progressive software engineering experience including architecture and technology leadership
10+ years leading global engineering organizations across multiple technical disciplines
5+ years managing onshore and offshore development teams collaboratively
Expertise in client-server, microservices, hybrid cloud, and cloud-native SaaS architectures
Deep knowledge of HIPAA, GDPR, healthcare data protection, and cybersecurity controls
Experience with Oracle, PostgreSQL, Azure, AWS, Kubernetes, and DevSecOps practices
