Registered Nurse - NICU

Job Description

Job Summary:
The registered staff nurse (RN) in the NICU provides comprehensive, patient-centered care to neonates and their families. They perform independent, collaborative, and delegated nursing duties in accordance with established standards and competencies specific to the neonatal intensive care environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assess neonatal patient conditions to identify urgent and ongoing care needs.
• Develop, implement, and revise individualized care plans for neonates based on assessment findings.
• Coordinate care across multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
• Delegate appropriate tasks to nursing and support staff, maintaining safe and effective patient care.
• Document clinical interventions, outcomes, and communications accurately in the electronic health record.
• Participate actively in quality improvement initiatives and practice standard enhancements.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid RN license in Minnesota.
• Demonstrate at least 2 years of experience as a registered nurse, including 1 year of travel nursing.
• Possess current BLS (AHA or ARC) certification and NRP documentation.
• Have neonate population experience with Level III NICU competencies.
• Exhibit proficiency in Epic electronic health record systems.
• Provide current skills checklist and two supervisory references verifying relevant clinical practice.
