Are you an accounting professional looking for your next opportunity with the potential to grow into a permanent role? We're seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant with 2-3 years of accounting experience to join our team in San Diego. This is a temporary-to-hire opportunity offering a hybrid work arrangement, a collaborative environment, and the chance to contribute to key financial operations and business initiatives.

As a Staff Accountant, you'll play an important role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the organization's accounting operations. Responsibilities include:

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules
• Perform bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
• Record, reconcile, and maintain financial transactions within accounting systems
• Assist with cash management activities, including processing payments and monitoring cash balances
• Support annual audits by gathering documentation and preparing audit schedules
• Generate financial reports and ad hoc analyses for business leaders
• Maintain accounting records and documentation in compliance with company standards
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial reporting needs
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and the overall client experience
• Assist with the transition from QuickBooks to Microsoft Dynamics 365(D365), including testing, validation, and process documentation
• Provide administrative support to the accounting team as needed

Required Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 2-3 years of accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• Experience with QuickBooks and/or Microsoft Dynamics 365
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
• Experience supporting audits or financial compliance activities
• Knowledge of healthcare, employee benefits, or related industries is a plus
