divh2Physical Therapist Position/h2pThe qualifications and skill requirements for this position include:/pulliMasters Degree in Physical Therapy, Doctorate preferred, or a minimum of an Associate of Science degree in Physical Therapist Assistant and a Masters degree in a health related area from a regionally accredited institution of higher education;/liliCurrent Florida licensure and National Board Certification as a Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant;/liliA minimum of one year work experience in Physical Therapy;/liliProven knowledge of contemporary healthcare practices;/liliExcellent communications skills, both oral and written;/liliTeaching experience with diverse populations and recent healthcare industry experience are also preferred;/liliAppropriate credentialing requirements for the Southern Association for Colleges and Schools (SACS)./li/ulpThe essential job functions and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:/pulliInstructing and evaluating theoretical knowledge, psychomotor skills and effective competencies in the Physical Therapist Assistant program;/liliDemonstrate knowledge and skills utilizing an instructional internet platform;/liliDemonstrating oral and written communication and teamwork;/liliDemonstrate the ability to recognize and respond to the individual differences of student population and a willingness to make students active partners in the teaching/learning process;/liliFlexibility for teaching day and/or evening classes./li/ulpThe specific duties and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:/pulliCollaborating with faculty and staff in the IRSC programs in Health Science and with other IRSC program areas;/liliEffectively instructing courses in Physical Therapist Assistant;/liliEvaluating student progress through examinations and observations of performance;/liliActively supporting student success through individual counseling and advising;/liliMaintaining appropriate documentation of related student records;/liliMaintaining course related equipment and supplies;/liliParticipating in department, division, and general faculty meetings;/liliMaintaining own professional development related to individual, professional, and institutional needs;/liliAdhering to all IRSC policies and procedures./li/ulpThis position requires an ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, lift, reach up, and stoop. This position also requires sufficient eyesight to observe patients, manipulate equipment and evaluate procedural results; sufficient hearing to assess patient needs and communicate verbally with students and other health care providers; sufficient verbal and written skills to communicate needs promptly and effectively in English; sufficient gross and fine motor coordination to respond promptly to the patients needs, manipulate equipment, lift a minimum of 30 pounds, participate as a team member of four in moving a 150 pound incapacitated patient, and ensure overall patient safety. It also requires manual dexterity to operate standard office machines, such as, copier, fax, calculator, telephone, and other equipment as necessary.
