Make a difference as a Special Education Teacher by supporting students in an engaging educational environment on a contract basis near Palo Alto, CA. You'll work collaboratively with other educators and specialists to develop individualized education plans and foster a supportive classroom atmosphere where every student can thrive.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid teaching license with Special Education endorsement/certification
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field (Master’s preferred)
- Previous experience teaching special education in a school setting
- Strong knowledge of IEP development and implementation
- Excellent communication and organization skills
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse student needs
- Comfortable collaborating with parents, administrators, and other support staff
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver individualized learning plans tailored to students with varying abilities and needs
- Monitor and track student progress, adjusting instruction as needed
- Maintain thorough and accurate documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student goals, achievements, and concerns
- Partner with classroom teachers, therapists, and aides to support inclusive practices
- Foster a safe, positive, and respectful classroom environment
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training
