Sr. Manager, Strategic Sourcing (Starlink) (Redmond)

MANAGER, STRATEGIC SOURCING (STARLINK)The Starlink supply chain department is a critical player in our operations to expand Starlink to hundreds of millions of users around the globe. To capitalize on our technical and market success, our team will execute large-scale projects that will define the bottom line for the company, and unlock unprecedented rates of Starlink hardware development and production. Our Sr. Manager will oversee a team and, in parallel, work alongside a group of individuals focused on, but not limited to, procurement, planning and fulfillment, supplier development and quality, logistics, and inventory that continues to position Starlink as a global leader in internet and satellite technology. RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead commodity strategy of electronic and electro-mechanical systems componentsManage and develop a sourcing team, including coaching and mentoring individual contributors and people leadersEvaluate, assess, develop, and manage the supply base to enable quick prototype deployment and introduction to scalable production for satellite integration Develop and manage purchase plans for part inventory, utilizing MRPAdminister contracts and independently negotiate contracts including pricing, technical requirements, scope, and terms involving responsibility, liability, indemnification, and intellectual propertyWork collaboratively with internal teams on sourcing strategy, market analysis, trade-off analysis reviews, make vs buy, and supplier roadmaps to support cost, quality, and delivery targetsPartner with internal stakeholders on requests for information, request for proposal, and request for quotationMonitor and manage costs to ensure adherence to project-specific budgets and forecastsBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain, or business7+ years of procurement or supplier management experiencePREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:Knowledge of EEE commodity, driving commodity strategy, and PCBA level commodity experience Experience working with foreign and domestic supply baseExperience in electrical, electro-mechanical or mechanical components procurementDemonstrate strong influence with manufactures to align supply strategy and ensure the supply chain's resilienceExperience working with contract manufactures to align supply strategy and drive critical component shortagesExperience with electronic manufacturing servicesTechnical procurement, new product introduction, manufacturing, or design/development experienceExperience with drawings, bill of materials, and gerber filesExperience training and team buildingExceptional analytical, problem solving, and organizational skillsKnowledge and skills in current technologies and applications, i.e. MS Office SuiteEffective written and verbal communication skills, especially when giving presentationsAbility to learn quickly and prioritize appropriately to meet customer and company needsMust be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to respond quickly to a fast-moving and ever-changing environmentConduct all activities with the highest of integrityADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Ability to travel both domestically and internationally to hit business benchmarks; 20-60% depending on product lifecycles Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as neededThis position is based in Redmond, WA and requires being onsiteCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:Pay Range:Sr. Manager: $175,000.00 - $225,000.00Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. You may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of company stock or long-term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary bonuses and the ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
