Corporate Controller

Corporate ControllerASARCO is seeking an experienced and hands-on Head of Corporate Controller to lead the company's accounting, financial reporting, cost control, budgeting, and FP&A functions. This role serves as the senior-most accounting leader within the organization and is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, disciplined cost management, standardized accounting practices across mining operations, and insightful financial analysis to support executive decision-making.The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting expertise with operational finance leadership and deep experience in cost control within complex industrial environments. This individual must thrive in a mining and metallurgical setting and possess the leadership capabilities to drive financial accountability, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement across the organization.Key Responsibilities:Accounting & Financial ReportingLead all corporate accounting and controllership activities across ASARCO operationsOversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reportingManage consolidations across mining operations and corporate entitiesEnsure compliance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policiesPrepare information for parent company consolidation and reporting requirementsOversee revenue recognition processes and related accounting controlsPartner with the Tax Manager to support tax reporting and compliance activitiesMaintain strong internal financial controls and promote standardized accounting practices across sitesFP&A, Budgeting & Cost AnalysisLead both OPEX and CAPEX budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processesPrepare ASARCO information and support parent company budgeting processProvide financial analysis, operational KPI reporting, and actionable insights to executive leadership and CFOMonitor and analyze operating costs, production costs, and spending trends to identify risks and improvement opportunitiesDevelop and enhance cost reporting tools and operational performance metrics to support proactive decision-makingPartner with operational leaders to analyze mining costs, production metrics, and financial performance driversDeliver clear, concise, and decision-oriented financial reporting and recommendationsSupport strategic and operational decision-making through data-driven analysisLeadership & Operational PartnershipLead and develop finance and accounting teams across corporate and site operationsDirectly manage:Site Controllers for the Ray, Mission, Silver Bell, Hayden and Amarillo sitesAccounting ManagerTax ManagerCollaborate closely with shared services teams in Hermosillo, Mexico and finance business partners within the ASARCO Unity HubDrive consistency and standardization of accounting processes, controls, and reporting methodologies across sitesFoster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational partnershipSystems & Process ImprovementServe as a key finance leader for SAP-related accounting and reporting processesIdentify opportunities for automation, process improvement, and finance transformation initiativesImprove reporting efficiency, data quality, and financial visibility across the organizationQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field requiredCPA designation required10+ years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experiencePublic accounting background preferredExperience in mining, manufacturing, heavy industrial, or metallurgical environments preferredStrong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, consolidations, financial reporting, and operational accountingPrior experience leading budgeting, forecasting, and FP&A functionsAdvanced SAP proficiency requiredExperience managing multi-site accounting operations strongly preferredPublic company reporting experience is preferredASARCO LLC provides equal opportunity for all individuals without regard to race, color, creed, religion, age, national origin, sex, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, genetic information, disability, military status, familial status, or any other characteristic(s) protected by local, state, or federal law(s).Candidates must possess a current and valid driver's license.
