Location: Jacobi – Bronx, NY 10461 Type: Full‑time, Regular Salary Range: $331,480 – $361,480 per year (board eligible vs. certified) Job Overview Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is hiring a Trauma, Surgical Critical Care, and Burn Surgeon to serve at NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi and North Central Bronx. The role includes comprehensive trauma and acute care surgery, burn care, critical care support, teaching, academic participation, and quality improvement in a LevelI/II Trauma Center. Responsibilities Provide trauma surgery, emergency general surgery, acute care surgery, surgical critical care, and burn surgery services. Deliver care to adult and pediatric trauma patients in a LevelI and LevelII Trauma Center. Cover concurrently Burn, Trauma, and Emergency General Surgery calls, including in‑house call duties. Provide coverage in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) and Burn Unit for critically ill surgical, burn, and trauma patients. Supervise, teach, and mentor surgical residents, fellows, medical students, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants in clinical and didactic settings. Participate in academic conferences, quality improvement initiatives, simulation training, and trauma education programs. Contribute to clinical research, scholarly publications, and professional society activities. Support the mission of a busy academic surgery division dedicated to patient care, education, research, and community outreach. Qualifications Board‑eligible or Board‑certified in General Surgery and Trauma/Surgical Critical Care by the American Board of Surgery. Completed a Trauma/Surgical Critical Care fellowship. Comfortable with Acute Care Surgery, Trauma Call, Burn, and SICU coverage. Active and unrestricted NY State physician license, or ability to obtain one. Active BLS, ACLS, PALS, and ATLS certifications. Compensation & Benefits Annual base salary: $331,480 (board eligible) or $361,480 (board certified) based on a 40‑hour work week. Additional compensation available for extra call or sessional/per‑hour work. Estimated total compensation: $500,828 (board eligible) or $533,680 (board certified). Projected bonus up to $40,000 based on quality and productivity targets. 401(k) company contribution: 3% immediately vesting, plus an additional 7% after one year. Annual CME reimbursement and generous paid time off (vacation, sick, holidays, CME days).
