Job Title: Facilities Tech

Department: Facilities/Fleet

Education Level and Certification: High school degree or GED. Maintenance, grounds, and HVAC certification/experience preferred. Must maintain at all times during employment an unrestricted motor vehicle operator's license and a satisfactory driving record.

Reports To: Facilities/Fleet Manager

Performance Responsibilities and Job Tasks

1. Monitor building security and safety.
2. Moving, loading, and unloading heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies, either manually or by using equipment.
3. Remove snow from sidewalks, driveways, and parking areas, using snowplows, snow blowers, and snow shovels, and spread snow melting chemicals.
4. HVAC maintenance, troubleshooting, system monitoring by performing needed PM on HVAC systems (chillers, boilers, rooftop units, air handlers) to ensure efficient operations.
5. Make adjustments and minor repairs to ventilating, plumbing, and electrical systems.
6. Maintain grounds by fertilizing, applying pesticides, watering, maintaining sprinklers, mowing and trimming.
7. Performing routine painting and plastering of interior and exterior buildings surfaces, signs, furniture, and equipment. Performs minor repairs of furniture, doors, windows, shelves, and floors.
8. Assists with replacing light bulbs, outlets, and switches, and other items as needed.
9. Service, clean, and supply restrooms and gather and empty trash.
10. Periodic deep cleaning and back up duties of: restrooms, trash, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, vacuuming, windows, shampooing carpets, and dusting.
11. Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment.
12. Notify supervisors concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
13. Set up, arrange, and remove decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, and scaffolding to prepare facilities for events such as banquets, meetings, and assemblies.
14. Participates in ESU staff meetings, projects and committees.
15. Perform other tasks or duties as signed by the ESU 13 Administrator, Director or other supervisors.
16. Complies with the Standards for ESU 13 Code of Ethic.

Working Conditions

1. Outside buildings and sheds and inside buildings.
2. Exposure to weather conditions.
3. Exposure to chemicals and solvents.

At-Will Position. This position is an "at-will" position and may be terminated, with or without cause, at any time in the sole discretion of the ESU 13 Administrator or ESU 13 Administrator's designee.
