ThriveKids Outpatient Therapist (LPC/LCSW)

Essential Functions Work as a Mental Health Therapist on the ThriveKids Team; full‑time employment at Children’s Hospital New Orleans. Support and implement the mission, vision, and core values of Children’s Hospital and the ThriveKids Student Wellness Project. Access and utilize specialty and behavioral health services to meet student behavioral health needs. Complete psychosocial assessments and diagnostic evaluations. Develop individualized treatment plans and provide psychotherapy and other billable services as indicated by patient need. Document all services in the electronic medical record promptly. Communicate progress and treatment details to families and referral sources, as allowed by patient consent. Perform care coordination for students requiring specialized services and refer to appropriate resources. Provide clinical supervision to unlicensed staff when required. Leverage telehealth for service delivery and may work from home, hybrid, at a school, or at the hospital. Engage in career development opportunities within Children’s Hospital New Orleans. Education Qualifications Master’s degree from an accredited school in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling. Licensed in the State of Louisiana. Participation in continuing education and annual education requirements to maintain job‑related skills and abilities. Experience Qualifications At least 2 years of progressively increasing experience in a clinical setting. Prior hospital or school experience, including student crisis intervention. Experience navigating community partnerships with governmental agencies, community programs, health care providers, or educational institutions. Experience providing services to children, adolescents, and families. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and in a team. Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively. Clinical knowledge of psychosocial issues affecting school‑age, adolescent, and young adult populations. Preferred Qualifications Additional 1‑2 years of progressive clinical experience. Previous experience in hospital, school, or clinical settings with crisis intervention. Proficiency in navigating community partnerships with governmental agencies, community programs, health care providers, or educational institutions. Licenses and Certifications LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker). Skills and Abilities Detail‑oriented, self‑starter with a commitment to student health and achievement. High‑performance record in challenging situations requiring problem‑solving skills and sound judgment. Strong time‑management, oral and written communication, conflict management, organization, and planning skills. Ability to maintain key community partnerships through excellent people skills, accountability, and self‑awareness. Astute observational and assessment skills and clinical expertise. Collaborative approach with other professionals to achieve positive solutions. Strong critical‑thinking skills and willingness to contribute to program development.
