Position Summary

The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) will provide IBHS services within the CSBBH model, which includes individual, group, and family sessions across the home, school, and community settings. The BHT provides individualized interventions that are outlined in the treatment plan. The BHT reports to their assigned school on a daily basis during the school year; the CSBBH team continues to see clients for individual and family sessions over school breaks including summer. Additionally, the CSBBH team facilitates a Therapeutic Summer Program (groups) during the summer. This is a full-time, salaried position. Pressley Ridge has CSBBH teams located within the following schools: Pittsburgh King K-8, Sto-Rox elementary schools, and Penn Hills Elementary School.

1. Clinical and Support
   • Works collaboratively with other professionals providing services and family members.
   • Effectively provides treatment plan interventions through IBHS individual and group services within the school, home, and community, as per the ITP.
   • Utilizes Pressley Ridge approved techniques for crisis intervention and conflict resolution outlined by the program.
   • Provides coverage for 24-7 crisis line as assigned.
   • Engages in discussions about and models intervention strategies with primary caregivers while in the child's home and in the community, as per the ITP.
   • Maintains professional boundaries with family members and other professionals.
   • Promotes Interagency Collaboration.
   • Participates in treatment team meetings for assigned cases.
   • Maintains flexibility and creativity in a high demand work situation
   • Works collaboratively with other professionals providing services and family members.
2. Quality Improvement
   • Collects and shares data on the effectiveness of interventions and progress of child on goals.
   • Maintains compliance with all internal and external regulations, policies and procedures including CCBH Performance Standards and APA targets.
   • Complies with organization's standards and state regulatory requirements.
   • Exemplifies the values of the program service model.
3. Communication
   • Provides contact with consumers and families that meet the program's requirements.
   • Reports any safety risks to a child to supervisor and to family.
   • Utilizes empathic listening and respectful communication skills in any conflict/situation that may arise.
   • Shares pertinent information with supervisor and other treatment team members as appropriate.
   • Uses professional language in both written and oral communication to families and school staff.
   • Keeps Program Supervisor/Program Director up to date with all scheduling issues.
4. Documentation
   • Completes all paperwork in a timely and professional manner.
   • Maintains a non-traditional schedule to accommodate the needs of children and families.
5. Supervision
   • Actively participate in supervision.
   • Follows clinical supervisory recommendations.
6. Professional Development
   • Attends and actively participates in all aspects of training and adhere to training plan.
   • Seeks out resources and learning opportunities to foster professional growth.
   • Engages in on-going professional development activities.

1. Education/Credentials/Licensure:
   • Requires one of the following:
     • A certification as a BCaBA.
     • A certification as a RBT.
     • A certification as a BCAT.
     • A behavior health certification or behavior analysis certification from an organization that is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies or the American National Standards Institute.
     • A high school diploma or the equivalent of a high school diploma and have completed a 40-hour training covering the RBT Task List as evidenced by a certification that includes the name of the responsible trainer who is certified as a BCBA or BCaBA.
     • A minimum of 2 years of experience in the provision of behavioral health services.
   • Requires a valid driver's license and auto insurance, registration, and safety/emissions where required.
   • Access to a personal vehicle daily.
2. Experience:
   • Prior experience providing behavioral health services is preferred.
3. Clearances:
   • State Police
   • FBI
   • Child Abuse Clearances
   • CPSL Mandated Reporter-Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse training per state regulation.

1. Physical Demands:
   • This position requires operating a keypad device 25% of the day and electronic/office equipment 25% of the day. Travel occurs on a daily basis and in all weather conditions. Travel includes transporting students to and from school, community or home-based appointments, school-based appointments, and/or field trips. Must have the ability to drive a vehicle. Fingers, thumbs, hands, wrists, elbows, legs and feet are all routinely used throughout the day. The lower and upper torso is used 75% of the day. Employee must meet minimum requirements for hearing, speech, and vision. Walking is required 50% of the day. Standing occurs 25% of the day. Sitting happens 25% of the day. Reaching above the shoulder as well as bending and twisting are performed 25% of the day. This function routinely lifts 15 pounds, 4 times per day. The maximum lift is 50 pounds, 1 time per day. 3. Environmental Factors:
   • Community, home, school. Involves exposure to tobacco smoke, domestic animals, household pests, and other conditions common to domestic environments.
4. Working Hours:
   • Flexible, non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends and some holidays. FT positions are based on a 40-hour work week.
