Our organization is subsidized housing serving low income seniors. We are not a medical model nor do we have dietary services. Our campuses are made up of apartments near downtown Plano. If you enjoy working with Seniors and making a difference in our community, this may be an opportunity for you.

We are in need of part-timers to cover evening, holiday and weekend shifts. Our part-timers start at $9.21/hour. We have 20-25 hours a week available for three new part-timers. The shifts are Monday through Friday 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm and on Saturday, Sunday and Holidays, the shifts can be anywhere between the hours of 9:00 am to 10:00 pm. Some light administrative duties are required. 

This position is ideal for a college or high school student as once their duties are done, they usually have an opportunity to do school work while on duty. It is also ideal for retirees or individuals looking for extra income.  The general job duties are: monitoring phones, alarms, locking and unlocking building doors, assisting residents and responding to emergencies. We are not a medical model nor do we have dietary services.

Requirements:

·      Must be of legal working age.

·      Must be able to read, write and communicate in the English language.

·      Must enjoy working with elderly and physically disabled persons.

·      Must be punctual and dependable.

·      Must act and present self in a mature, courteous and professional manner at all times while working or representing the organization in the community.

·      Must be able to respond quickly to emergencies as needed when on duty.

·      Must demonstrate patience, tolerance, understanding and a positive attitude.

·      Knowledge of Fair Housing Issues, or willingness to learn and implement.

·      Must abide by all Plano Community Homes Employee Policies, House Rules, Apartment Lease, and other appropriate rules and regulations.

·      Ability to perform heavy lifting duties which may include lifting up to 40 lbs., prolonged sitting, repeated bending, squatting and stooping, standing and pushing/pulling movements.
