Job Description Commercial Journeyman Electrician – Power, Controls, & Field Lead \n \n Job Overview: \n ● Company: D&L Electric Company, Inc \n ● Salary/Pay Rate: $33.00 - $45.00 per hour \n ● Location: Houston, TX \n ● Job/Employment Type: Full Time \n ● Project Scope: Commercial Electrical & Controls \n ● Mandatory Licences & Certifications: Journeyman Electrician License, Valid Driver's License \n \n The Opportunity \n As a Journeyman Electrician at D&L Electric Company, Inc, you will play an integral role in building and installing high-quality commercial electrical and control systems across our job sites. In addition to mastering complex technical installations, you will serve as a key field lead, assisting the Foreman in orchestrating daily workflows and mentoring apprentices. We offer an environment where skilled tradespeople are valued as family members, supported with top-tier safety standards, and given clear room to grow. \n \n How You Will Make an Impact \n ● Read, analyze, and interpret commercial electrical blueprints to execute installations strictly per NEC and company standards. \n ● Lead and assist Foremen with delegating, orchestrating, and inspecting daily site activities for Apprentice Electricians. \n ● Install underground PVC conduit (), managing site trenching, backfilling, and tamping procedures. \n ● Precision bend and route EMT conduit (for custom bends, offsets, and saddles; using pre-manufactured fittings). \n ● Route, push, and pull fish tapes and wire feeders ranging from #12 AWG up to 750 KCMIL. \n ● Terminate complex electrical equipment, including main distribution panels, dry-type transformers, and disconnect switches. \n ● Wire and install commercial line-voltage devices, receptacles, switches, MC cable systems, and low-voltage lighting control components. \n ● Perform high-elevation work safely from ladders and Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs) at heights of 40 feet or higher. \n \n Required Qualifications & Experience \n ● Active Texas Journeyman Electrician License. \n ● Valid Driver's License. \n ● Proven ability to read and analyze electrical blueprints, single-line diagrams, and schematics. \n ● Complete set of basic personal electrical hand tools. \n ● Physical ability to work comfortably from ladders and MEWPs at heights of 40 feet or greater. \n \n Preferred Qualifications & Experience \n ● 4 or more years of hands-on experience in commercial electrical power and control systems. \n ● Strong leadership, communication, and site organization skills to direct apprentice crews effectively. \n ● Driven, respectful, punctual, and committed to continuous professional growth. \n \n Compensation & Benefits \n ● Competitive hourly pay rate of $33.00 to $40.00 per hour with overtime potential. \n ● Weekly pay cycle and annual bonus opportunities. \n ● Per diem provided for travel project assignments. \n ● 401(k) retirement savings program with employer matching. \n ● Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage. \n ● Life and disability insurance options. \n ● Full paid time off benefits covering holidays, and vacation. \n ● Paid training programs, manufacturer certifications, and leadership growth pathways. \n ● Full safety equipment provided (helmets, gloves, high-visibility gear). \n ● Team-building company events and family-focused corporate culture. \n \n About Us \n D&L Electric Company, Inc is a premier family-owned electrical contractor specializing in commercial electrical and control systems.
