About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years RN Labor and Delivery experience required License: Valid RN license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, AWHONN Advanced or Intermediate Fetal Monitoring required Must-Have: - Min 2 years RN L&D experience - Float required based on census - Weekend coverage every other weekend - Patient ratio 1:2 - No locals Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Labor and Delivery specialty. The role requires substantial clinical expertise in high-risk deliveries and post-partum care. Responsibilities include the administration of medications, monitoring fetal heart rates, and assisting with deliveries. Candidates must possess strong communication skills to support patients and their families during labor. Experience with Epic charting system is preferred. The unit sees a diverse patient population with various diagnoses related to labor and delivery. Interdisciplinary support is available from teams including pharmacy, respiratory services, and social services. Travelers should be open to floating based on census needs. This role includes providing education on infant care and lactation support to new parents. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to handle both antepartum and postpartum complications effectively.
