Forklift Operator

Schedule: Monday-Friday time varies depending on shipment schedule

Hourly Pay: $13.25/hr

Position Objective: Loads trucks safely as they arrive by staging outgoing shipments, re-skidding, and packaging pick orders. Maintains compliance of BOLs, order sets and other applicable shipping documents. Keeps the dock in order; and when applicable makes sure that all products leaving the facility has been released by Quality, i.e., Certificate of Conformances. Also handles incoming freight for the various departments. This is done through working with and supporting other team members in the shipping department.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Good written and verbal communications skills
• Forklift driving experience required
• Ability to read a tape measure
• Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
• Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.

Job Responsibilities

• Practices First-In-First-Out (FIFO) material management (pick/pull, issue, and/or ship the oldest stock first).
• Pulls warehouse material for order compliance and track load tag information (specifically lot numbers) with the materials pulled.
• Processes Pick Orders by re-skidding and repacking stock material to the correct quantity
• Enlists the help of other departments to repackage material, but should always participate in the activity.
• Ensures the stock area is organized and clean according to 5S requirements.
• Loads shipping trucks.
• Coordinates with truck drivers regarding shipping docks.
• Tracks lot numbers for shipment pulls items from stock.
• Performs physical inventory count.
• Cross checks product codes (part numbers), color, gauge, and quantities with skids and shipping orders.
• Visually inspects packaging product for conformance to standards, wear, tear, etc.
• Ensures that the workplace is safe, professional, and clean by upholding company THM practices and participating in 5S, OCS, Safety, and Recycle programs.
• Conducts safe practices at all times.
• Participates in inventory processes.
• In times of Vacation the Loader/Picker may be the only employee performing warehouse duties.
• Bands and wraps product from the Converting process in times of high production.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Work Environment Conditions Subjected To In This Position

• Inside environmental conditions protected from weather conditions, not necessarily temperature conditions.
• Outside environmental conditions, no effective protection from weather.
• Inside and outside environments apply.
• Subject to extreme cold; temperatures below 32 degrees for periods of more than one hour.
• Subject to extreme heat; temperatures above 100 degrees for more than one hour.
• Subject to noise, causing reason to shout in order to be heard above the noise level.
• Subject to vibration, exposure, fluctuating movement of the body.
• Subject to hazards such as moving machinery, electrical currents, falling debris, exposure to chemicals, gases, high heat or explosives.
• Subject to unregulated atmospheric conditions caused by odors, fumes, gases, poor ventilation and dusts.
• Subject to oils and other cutting fluids via touch or air.
