Maintenance Mechanic

Join a premier company in the food industry as a Maintenance Mechanic based in Chicago, IL. You'll ensure the plant operates at peak efficiency, handling the installation and preventative maintenance of mechanical equipment, diagnosing and fixing breakdowns, and maintaining the maintenance shop in top condition.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance (PMs) on machinery and mechanical equipment, following daily, weekly, and monthly schedules.
• Troubleshoot, adjust, repair, or replace machinery and equipment as needed.
• Quickly diagnose and repair equipment during breakdowns.
• Ensure all facility equipment functions properly.
• Follow safety procedures, including lock-out/tag-out programs.
• Reduce downtime by teaching production workers about routine PMs.
• Document all PMs and work orders.
• Adhere to all safety, GMPs, food safety, and quality procedures.

Requirements

• 2 years of experience in industrial maintenance (preferred).
• Ability to stand for the entire shift.
• Flexibility to bend, kneel, squat, and work on concrete floors.
• Capability to work in varying temperatures and weather conditions.
• Reliable transportation.
• Candidates must pass mechanical, electrical, and hierology tests, as well as an interview.
