Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 3x12 Hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit experience required License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: ACLS and BLS certifications required Must-Have: - Proficiency in IV starts - Telemetry monitoring experience - Epic charting experience required - Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management - Blood product administration - Cardiac telemetry knowledge - Care of ventilated patients - Central line care and management - Feeding tube care and management - Interpretation of Arterial Blood Gases - Management of dysrhythmias Description: Schedule includes weekdays and some weekends, with rotating holidays. Nights may be rotating or straight. On-call duties may be required. Estimated patient ratios are 1:3. Candidates must be willing to float within units of equivalent or lower levels of acuity. Experience with chronic ventilated patient management and post-lung transplant patient care is preferred. Interdisciplinary support services include physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, and pharmacy. This role involves caring for patients with various diagnoses, with a focus on cardiac specialization. Candidates must also be accountable for managing care and providing high-quality patient outcomes. Willingness to adapt to unit needs and demonstrate flexibility in nursing practice is essential. Professional references are required as part of the hiring process. Candidates must be compliant with any credentialing processes that are in place. Prior experience in a travel nurse capacity is preferred but not mandatory. All candidates must maintain a focus on patient safety and quality care. This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Nurses are expected to uphold the highest standards of nursing practice throughout their duties. Physical and emotional resilience is necessary to thrive in a demanding patient care environment.
