Senior QA Analyst

Overview:

We are currently seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer. Candidates must be located within 90 miles of Lansing, MI. Interviews will be held in person in Lansing, MI. There is no option for a video interview. The work schedule is hybrid with two days onsite in Lansing, MI and three days remote. There is no option for a fully remote work schedule.

Work Schedule: Hybrid - Onsite Wednesdays and Thursdays

Work Location Requirement: Candidates must reside in Michigan during remote workdays and be available onsite from their first day of employment.

Job Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior QA Analyst to provide high-quality software testing, quality assurance, and customer support for critical technology initiatives.

This role will focus on ensuring the quality, accuracy, and reliability of system enhancements and technology updates for public-facing applications that serve Michigan residents.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software testing, Agile methodologies, defect management, and stakeholder collaboration. This individual will work closely with technical teams, business analysts, and project stakeholders to ensure solutions meet business requirements, quality standards, and compliance expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, execute, and maintain comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Identify, document, track, and communicate software defects to ensure timely resolution.
• Validate system enhancements, application updates, and new functionality against business requirements and quality standards.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, project managers, and stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, requirements discussions, and project meetings, providing input from a quality assurance perspective.
• Support test case development, acceptance criteria validation, and user story testing.
• Communicate testing progress, risks, defects, and quality concerns to project teams and senior management.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, QA processes, and operational support activities.
• Ensure testing activities align with applicable accessibility, security, and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of software testing experience , including test planning, test case design, test execution, defect documentation, and process analysis to improve software quality and reliability.
• 5+ years of experience working in Agile environments , including creating, refining, and managing test cases and acceptance criteria, validating user stories, and participating in sprint ceremonies.
• 2+ years of experience collaborating with senior management , including communicating testing impacts, discussing quality strategies, contributing to risk assessments, and aligning on testing approaches and defect resolution.
• 2+ years of experience testing public-facing applications , including validating functionality, accessibility, performance, and security considerations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional technical and business teams.

Required Education

• Bachelor's degree.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience with ADA/WCAG accessibility standards and compliance testing.
• 2+ years of experience reviewing, analyzing, and triaging vulnerability scan results.
• 1+ year of experience working with applications or programs subject to state and/or federal regulatory requirements.
• Experience supporting government, public-sector, or highly regulated technology environments.
