Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery | Contract

Location: New York, NY

Duration: 14 Weeks

Shift: 3x12-Hour Shifts | Full-Time

Hours: 36 Hours Per Week

Pay Rate:

Local: $2,450 – $2,550 Weekly
Travel: $2,900 – $3,060 Weekly

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to provide comprehensive care throughout the antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum phases. The ideal candidate will have strong maternal-child nursing experience and the ability to manage high-acuity laboring patients while ensuring exceptional outcomes for both mother and baby.

Responsibilities:

Provide high-quality nursing care in the Labor & Delivery unit.
Monitor and interpret Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) strips.
Administer and manage conscious sedation according to established protocols.
Perform IV insertion, phlebotomy, medication administration, and patient care coordination.
Assess, triage, and admit patients while maintaining accurate documentation.
Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
Respond effectively to maternal and neonatal emergencies.
Maintain patient safety and confidentiality at all times.

Preferred:

Experience caring for high-risk obstetric patients.
Strong maternal-child nursing background.
Experience in a busy Labor & Delivery environment.
Excellent communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills.

Requirements:

Active New York State RN License.
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN/ASN) or higher.
Current AHA BLS Certification.
Current AHA ACLS Certification.
Current NRP Certification.
Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience.
Minimum 2 years of IV insertion and phlebotomy experience.
Strong assessment and clinical decision-making skills.
