Job Summary: Provide compassionate, patient- and family-centered nursing care in a supportive environment that emphasizes best practices and exceptional customer service. This role fosters relationship-based care and upholds professional nursing standards guided by the ANA Code of Ethics, regional Nurse Practice Acts, and regulatory agency requirements. The position involves shared leadership responsibilities within acute care settings including medical, surgical, emergency, intensive care, childbirth, pediatric, and perioperative units.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Effectively manage time and resources, prioritizing critical tasks while balancing short- and long-term objectives.
• Apply new knowledge and skills gained from ongoing education to improve patient care and promote cost-saving measures.
• Make patient care assignments based on nurse expertise, patient acuity, and technical needs.
• Deliver excellent guest relations to patients, families, physicians, and colleagues, embodying core values such as respect, integrity, collaboration, empathy, and courage.
• Communicate clearly with patients and healthcare teams to manage expectations and ensure a positive experience.
• Maintain a therapeutic environment by minimizing noise, using electronic devices appropriately, and supporting healthcare students.
• Prioritize patient and workplace safety by adhering to national safety standards, HIPAA, and Just Culture principles.
• Engage in professional growth through certifications, advanced degrees, leadership opportunities, and evidence-based practice.
• Foster teamwork by motivating and mentoring colleagues, encouraging cooperation, and building trust.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with organizational policies and regulatory guidelines.

Education and Experience:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program or, if unaccredited, a minimum of five years acute care nursing experience.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred or required within five years of hire; enrollment in an accelerated MSN program is acceptable.
• Completion and maintenance of area-specific certifications such as ACLS, BLS, PALS, or specialty certifications.

Licensure:

• Current active Registered Nurse license as required by the regional nursing board.

Work Shift: Night shift, 6:00pm 6:00am, 36 hours per week.

This position is located in a regional healthcare setting within the Midwest United States.
