Job Opportunity – ICU Registered Nurse – West Virginia

Start Date: September 2026

Location: West Virginia

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 13-week assignment, 3x12-hour rotating shifts (0700-1900 and 1900-0700). Rotation cadence varies from one week to one month increments; no same-week rotations. Self-scheduling available. Weekend requirement: 3 shifts per contract.

Highlights:

• Intensive Care Unit position in a 303-bed regional academic medical center
• 20-bed ICU with 2:1 patient ratios across all shifts
• Cerner electronic medical record system
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and lift teams
• 12-hour orientation with self-scheduling flexibility
• Float to like units only; one pre-approved time-off period available

Requirements:

• Active RN license
• Minimum 2 years of critical care nursing experience required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, and NIHSS required; PALS and TNCC preferred
• Cerner charting experience highly preferred
• Travel nursing experience preferred
• Previous charge experience and trauma level I/II experience preferred
• Must reside more than 50 miles from facility
• Lab work completion within 72 hours of contract signing required

Clinical Skills & Expertise:

• Advanced ventilator management and care of ventilated patients
• Central line and arterial line management, PICC line care
• Hemodynamic monitoring including pulmonary artery/Swan Ganz catheters
• Titration of vasoactive and cardiac drips, continuous IV sedation
• Management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Neuro intensive care including ICP monitoring, external ventricular drains, post-neurosurgery care
• CVA/acute stroke management, traumatic brain injury, and spinal cord injury care
• Interpretation of ABGs and dysrhythmias, blood product administration
• BiPAP/CPAP and high-flow nasal cannula management
• Procedural sedation, pre/post cardiac catheterization care

Patient Population:

• Adult and geriatric patients
• Daily census of approximately 20 patients
