Job Summary
Respiratory Therapist, Respiratory Therapist Registered (RT PEDS), Tallahassee. The Respiratory Therapist provides comprehensive respiratory care, patient education, treatment planning, and medically prescribed patient transport with minimal supervision. The role manages invasive and non-invasive ventilation, respiratory procedures, monitoring, airway care, and collaboration with physicians and clinical teams.
Job Details
- Schedule: Night shifts; 12-hour shifts; minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Additional Information: Provides respiratory treatments using ventilators, oxygen and aerosol devices, nebulizers, and chest physiotherapy equipment. Performs suctioning, oximetry, capnography, pulmonary function studies, 12-lead electrocardiograms, basic arrhythmia recognition, arterial punctures, tracheostomy care, endotracheal tube insertion and removal, chest drainage, and assistance with bronchoscopy and other respiratory procedures. Operates and monitors mechanical ventilation equipment, completes equipment self-testing, documents patient assessments and responses, communicates treatment information during handoffs, and performs cardiopulmonary resuscitation according to Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) guidelines.
