Operations Business Unit Lead

Role Operations Business Unit Lead - 3rd Shift. As a Processing Business Unit Lead, you will function as the operational hub of a fully integrated, automated production facility, owning the monitoring, operation, and maintenance of mixing, filling, and sterilization processes. Reporting to the Operations Team Leader, you will drive operational excellence and shape the future of the manufacturing team. Responsibilities Operate, monitor, and perform changeovers and maintenance of automated and manual equipment throughout the production facility via computer terminals, control panels, tablets, or manual methods. Knowledge of the Mixer area, Fillers and Seamers, and Hydrostat Sterilizer. Monitor conditions across the facility and collaborate with team members to ensure consistent operational performance. Provide expert knowledge and lead troubleshooting, including root-cause analysis. Gather relevant information, apply logic to solve problems, and make data-supported recommendations; use software to monitor equipment performance and suggest improvements for Production or Autonomous Maintenance (AM) and Preventative Maintenance (PM). Participate in sanitation and upkeep of the process area. Foster a teamwork-based environment and share ideas. Produce product to required standards: sampling, testing, and adjustments as needed. Collaborate with the Reliability BUL to plan autonomous and preventative maintenance activities. Follow all safety and quality requirements. Identify continuous improvement opportunities, provide solutions, and empower employees in decision making. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience, including direct experience interacting with HMI screens. Proven technical proficiency in operating and monitoring industrial equipment. Ability to meet physical demands of the role, including lifting up to 50 lbs and climbing stairs carrying tools/supplies. Preferred Qualifications Technical Certification, Associate's Degree, or Bachelor's Degree. Food safety experience. Hands-on technical experience utilizing SAP software platforms. Strong data-driven decision-making, complex problem-solving, and cross-functional communication skills. Physical Functions Ability to bend, climb, crawl, and work in confined spaces, including hazardous environments for up to twelve hours per day. Ability to work in extreme weather conditions; temperature ranges from cold to hot and humid. Ability to use hazardous materials and lift up to 50 lbs on a continual basis. Ability to wear required fall protection equipment and PPE (hearing, eye, foot, and dust protection). Tasks requiring hands overhead; operate stand-up or sit-down forklift up to twelve hours per day. Type on a computer keyboard intermittently for up to twelve hours per day; walk unlimited distances each day; frequent ascents/descents on multiple levels with tool bags or supplies (average 25 lbs). Occasionally climb ladders or ledges with tie-off equipment when required. Compensation And Benefits Salary Range: $64,000.00 – $87,500.00 USD. Pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Salaried employees may be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing, and long-term incentives for executive-level roles. Support includes a minimum of 15 vacation/PTO days (hourly employees receive a minimum of 120 hours) and 13 paid holidays.
