Health Physicist

Duties

Plan all aspects of the hospital radiation safety program through application of professional knowledge and skill in health physics, practices, and techniques.

Apply health physics theory and practices to maintain radiation exposures As Low As Reasonably Achievable and assure compliance with applicable AF, DHA, Federal, local laws, regulations, or other guidance.

Serve as the focal point for assigned contracted projects.

Responsible for communicating and coordinating assigned program issues with superiors, team members, higher headquarters, regulatory agencies, other installation units, community, and other officials and/or interest groups.

Prepare proposed responses to congressional inquiries, audit reports, inspection reports, press releases, and public concerns.

Comply with health, safety, and environmental rules and procedures and performs work that enhances the safety and security of the work environment.

Ensure adherence to Federal, state, and local codes concerning health, safety, and the environment.
