Are you a skilled and experienced Postgres Database Administrator (DBA) looking for an exciting contract opportunity? Join our dynamic team, as we embark on a journey to optimize and manage our database systems.
Location: Los Angeles, CA (Remote Option)
Position Type: 6-12+ Months

Responsibilities:
- Bachelor's with 5+ years of experience to design, implement, and maintain highly available and scalable Postgres database systems.
- Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize queries for improved efficiency.
- Collaborate with development teams to provide guidance on database design and optimization.
- Perform database upgrades, migrations, and patches while ensuring minimal downtime.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner.
- Implement and maintain database security measures to protect sensitive data.
- Ensure data integrity, backup, and disaster recovery processes are in place.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and best practices in database administration.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Database Administrator, specifically with Postgres databases.
- Proficiency in database design, optimization, and performance tuning.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and query optimization techniques.
- Experience with database monitoring and management tools.
- Familiarity with backup, recovery, and security protocols.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote or on-site environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Any relevant certifications would be a plus.
