We see ourselves as an extension of our clients and strive to be your most trusted logistics partner when the stakes are highest./ph3Job Summary/h3pIn this position, you will be providing customer service and operational support, which includes taking customers orders, communicating with our vendor network of airlines, cargo handlers, and pickup / delivery agents, giving pricing information, performing consultative sales to customers, explaining services and benefits to customers, suggesting alternative solutions, and resolving problems competently and appropriately./ph3Essential Job Functions/h3pCustomer Service/pulliPlace new bookings and route the shipment to meet service and maximize profit/liliProblem solve with customers and vendors (airlines and pickup / delivery agents)/liliServe as an additional point of communication for all customer service and documentation-related matters/liliCoordinate freight movement throughout the life-cycle of each shipment while working closely with carriers and agents/liliMonitor shipments from order entry through delivery to ensure on-time performance/liliCorrespond with customers extensively via phone, e-mail and website/liliAssist our employee drivers, agents, and carriers in obtaining critical information/liliContribute to team effort by executing tasks delegated to you as needed/liliManage and distribute a high volume of incoming calls and emails/liliQuickly and reliably resolve logistics service issues with confidence, escalating to managers when necessary/liliSupport new and existing customer accounts to foster business development/liliBuild and maintain carrier relationships and trust through open and interactive communication to ensure successful transportation abilities/liliPresent customers with effective, customized, cost-efficient transportation solutions to achieve service objectives/liliPrepare quotes for customers and vendors/liliFollow communication procedures, guidelines, and policies closely to achieve customer objectives/li/ulpOperations/pulliUnderstand and apply knowledge of unique freight handling characteristics and delivery requirements/liliProvide a high level of accuracy in order documentation, be very detail-oriented/liliSuggest improvements to business process and procedures when applicable/liliPerform tasks such as gathering and analyzing data via excel spreadsheets/liliScrutinize vendor invoices our accounting team deems questionable/li/ulh3Qualifications and Education Requirements/h3ulli1+ year experience providing customer service and operational support. Preferably in Shipping or Logistics./liliFull Time + Overtime available: 9-12 hour days (Mon-Fri)/liliHard-working, team-oriented individual that thrives under pressure and against deadlines/liliHolds self to the highest degree of personal integrity/liliAble to multi-task and prioritize time and workload in a fast-paced environment/liliSelf-motivated; able to work both independently and within a team environment/liliDemonstrated time management, organizational skills and consistent follow-through/liliExcellent written and verbal communication skills/liliComputer literate with working knowledge of Outlook, Excel, proprietary in-house software, and online applications. Cargowise preferred./liliGeographical knowledge of the U.S./li/ulh3Schedule/h3ulliMonday-Friday. Set schedule.
