Role Description This full-time, on-site Registered Nurse (RN) Medical Oncology role is based at VHC Health in Arlington, VA. The RN provides direct patient care to adults with cancer, including comprehensive assessments, chemotherapy and biotherapy administration, symptom management, and coordination of complex treatment plans. Daily responsibilities include medication administration, patient and family education on diagnosis, treatment, and side effects, and close collaboration with oncologists, advanced practice clinicians, pharmacists, social workers, and other team members. The RN monitors patients for treatment responses and adverse events, documents care accurately in the electronic health record, and participates in multidisciplinary rounds and care conferences. The role also involves supporting quality and safety initiatives, following evidence‑based oncology protocols, and promoting a healing, respectful, and inclusive environment for patients and colleagues. Qualifications Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the Commonwealth of Virginia or eligibility for licensure. Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Recent clinical experience in oncology, hematology, or an acute care setting strongly preferred. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred. Experience with chemotherapy and biotherapy administration; Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) chemotherapy/biotherapy certification or willingness to obtain within an established timeframe. Demonstrated ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments, manage symptoms, and respond to changes in patient condition in a timely manner. Strong patient and family education skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly and sensitively. Proficiency with electronic health records and clinical documentation; basic computer literacy and comfort with clinical technology. Excellent communication, teamwork, and collaboration skills for working in a multidisciplinary environment. Strong organizational and time‑management skills, with the ability to prioritize in a fast‑paced clinical setting. #J-18808-Ljbffr
