Service Representative

As a Service Representative, you provide hands-on technical service and support for water treatment and disinfection systems within data center and industrial environments. You work independently in the field, build trusted relationships with customers, and help them conserve water, protect critical assets, and improve operational performance. This role combines mechanical aptitude, field service work, and customer interaction to deliver sustainable, efficient solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support to customers, identifying and resolving issues and escalating complex challenges when necessary.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers while promoting best practices in water treatment and system operation.
• Ensure full compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements at customer sites.
• Conduct field testing, inspections, and basic troubleshooting on water treatment and disinfection systems.
• Execute required chemistry tests, accurately log and report data, and maintain product inventories at customer accounts.
• Deliver routine service support to Sales Representatives in strategic district accounts to execute agreed-upon customer system assurance plans.
• Support customers in meeting sustainability and operational performance goals by protecting critical assets and optimizing system performance.
• Travel daily to customer locations within a reasonable commuting distance of Lebanon, IN and work onsite in data center and industrial environments.
• Operate company and/or customer vehicles safely and maintain a valid, unrestricted drivers license.
• Perform physically demanding tasks including lifting, climbing, walking, standing, and working in hot, cold, noisy, or dirty environments.
• Maintain accurate records of service activities, test results, and inventory levels using Microsoft Office and other digital tools.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including sales and technical resources, to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery.

Essential Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience in water treatment or an industrial/mechanical environment.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and comfort working with industrial equipment and systems.
• Ability to conduct field testing, basic troubleshooting, and chemical testing in water treatment applications.
• Valid, current drivers license with no restrictions, and ability to safely operate vehicles to and from customer sites.
• Capability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, balancing, walking, standing, and climbing.
• Ability to work in hot, cold, noisy, or dirty environments for extended periods.
• Commitment to following safety procedures and maintaining compliance with all applicable policies and regulations.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite for data logging, reporting, and communication.
• Willingness to work a 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. shift and adapt to customer scheduling needs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Associates degree or trade school certification in a relevant technical or industrial field.
• Experience in the water treatment or specialty chemical industry.
• Familiarity with boilers, cooling towers, and wastewater treatment systems.
• OSHA 10 certification or similar safety training.
• Prior experience supporting data center or other mission-critical facilities.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in the field.
• Effective communication skills to explain technical concepts clearly to customers and internal teams.
• Attention to detail in performing tests, documenting results, and managing inventories.
• Adaptability to changing site conditions, customer requirements, and new technologies.
• Interest in sustainability and resource conservation in industrial environments.

Work Environment:

This is a field-based role centered around customer sites in and around Lebanon, IN, with a focus on data centers and industrial facilities. You work primarily on water treatment and disinfection systems, including equipment such as boilers, cooling towers, and wastewater treatment systems. The schedule typically runs from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with the possibility of overtime based on customer needs. The environment is hands-on and physically demanding, involving lifting up to 50 pounds and frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, balancing, walking, standing, and climbing. You may work in hot, cold, noisy, or dirty conditions and must follow strict safety procedures and protocols. You use tools and testing equipment for field and chemical analysis and rely on Microsoft Office and other digital systems to log and report data and manage inventories. Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fishers, IN.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
