Civil Engineering Internship – Summer 2026

Locations: South Bend, IN or Fort Wayne, IN

About JPR: Jones Petrie Rafinski (JPR) is a dynamic provider of Architecture & Engineering (A&E) services with projects mainly in Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio. As a multi-disciplined firm, we offer our professionals a broad variety of challenging assignments, giving you the chance to explore different areas of civil engineering and discover where you thrive.

The Opportunity: We're looking for motivated Civil Engineering Interns to join our team for Summer 2026! This is a hands-on learning opportunity where you'll gain exposure to several disciplines, including:

  • Water Resources
  • Structural Engineering
  • Transportation
  • Industrial/Commercial & Creative Site Design

You'll work side by side with experienced engineers and designers, contributing to real projects and learning how your classroom knowledge translates into practical solutions.

What You'll Do:

  • Assist project teams with design tasks and project deliverables
  • Perform basic analyses, calculations, and modeling using industry-standard software
  • Prepare sketches, diagrams, and technical reports
  • Review and check detailed drawings and layouts
  • Collaborate with colleagues across multiple disciplines in a team-oriented environment

What We're Looking For:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Sophomore, Junior, or Senior preferred; Freshmen considered)
  • Basic knowledge of Autodesk Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to learn, ask questions, and contribute in a team setting
  • Ability to stay organized and meet deadlines
