Business Systems Analyst (Information Technology & Learning Services) – District The Riverside Community College District seeks a Business Systems Analyst to serve as a liaison between end‑users of business and administrative applications and the technical resources within Information Technology. The analyst will lead projects throughout the software development life cycle, develop functional and semi‑technical specifications, troubleshoot and resolve software problems, and maintain application modules. Responsibilities and Key Duties Lead application development projects, from requirements gathering to implementation and maintenance. Analyze business processes, translate user needs into functional specifications, and create workflow diagrams. Maintain and test software upgrades, patches, and new features; diagnose and resolve incidents. Work with internal stakeholders and third‑party vendors to coordinate project tasks and vendor management. Prepare and analyze system reports, generate documentation, and provide training to users. Communicate complex technical issues to non‑technical staff and external partners. Assist in the development and automation of training materials for new systems. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field. Three (3) years of business systems analysis and project implementation experience (equivalent education and experience may substitute). Strong knowledge of enterprise applications, relational database concepts, and SQL. Experience with application development life cycle activities: design, development, testing, deployment, and support. Ability to plan, lead, and manage multiple concurrent projects. Effective written and oral communication skills with the ability to explain technical matters to non‑technical audiences. Proficiency with business‑process modeling tools and documentation standards. Demonstrated judgment and initiative in independent analytical roles. Physical Demands Standard office setting. Requires use of a computer and standard office equipment, ability to read printed materials and computer screens, and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. Employees may bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, and pull shelves or drawers as needed. Benefits Highlights Salary Grade T, $9,698–$11,804 per month. Vacation: 12 days in first five years, 15 days after five years, 22 days after ten years. Sick leave: one day per month of service; no cap on accrual.
