Travelers will be required to float as needed. The unit typically manages a mix of patients, including Med/Surg Telemetry cases. The nurse to patient ratio is 4:1. Nurses are responsible for monitoring their own telemetry. In-house security is available. House transporters are responsible for patient transport. Lab draws will be conducted by nurses. The facility has a standby requirement. There is a requirement to float to similar floors as needed. These are boarding patients waiting for a room. The hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment. Charting is performed using an electronic medical record system. No specific advanced degree is required.
